Presentation grade 19 century North Indian or Nepalese kukri in silver and gold mounting, massive horn hilt and epic battle grade blade. The front gold plate of the scabbard is embossed with two peacocks with gold eyes facing each other, whilst the silver mounts below are lavishly decorated with various embossed floral ornaments and another pair of peacocks around inset ruby stone. Similar quality kukris presented on p. 55 of “Arms of the Paladins” ref. by Oliver S. Pinchot. Overall length – 48 cm, blade – 33 cm.
