Marlen - Marlen Estasi (di San Francesco), Edizione limitata dipinta a mano n. 15/28 esemplari | Pennino Oro - Fountain pen
The "Ecstasy" collection pays homage to the cycle of frescoes of the Stories of Saint Francis in the Upper Basilica of Assisi, attributed to Giotto, especially the twelfth of the twenty-eight scenes. It was probably painted between 1295 and 1299. In the work, the master paints the Saint levitating on a cloud and turning to God who blesses him from above.
The collection, in Italian resin and silver, is made in only 28 pieces worldwide. The miniature of the entire work is reproduced on the large bands on the barrel and cap of the pen, both in silver. At the top of the cap, a silver disk reproduces the Marlen brand. Silver clip.
Each pen was individually painted with a particular fire enamelling technique. A special hot enamelling technique was used to depict the painting. Hot enamelling is a process that involves the liquefaction of pulverized crystals at a temperature between 650 and 800 degrees. Numerous stages are required to produce the final product. The subject is first painted on a transparent enamel background using colored crystals mixed with special oils. The pen is then fired numerous times to fix the painting. Once the desired result has been achieved, the miniature is covered with a layer of transparent enamel and finally cleaned. The end result is a prestigious instrument, full of ancient charm.
