Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; four vertical hairline cracks to paint extending from the upper edge, with the longest approximately 13 inches and extending through the Virgin's and Child's faces, and through the Virgin's proper right hand; one vertical hairline crack to paint extending from the lower right corner, approximately 3 inches in length; all cracks accompanied by inpainting visible under normal viewing conditions; small areas of paint loss in the upper right corner, lower right corner, and in areas of the Virgin's proper right sleeve; additional pinpoint paint losses in the lower right corner. Under UV light: inpainting within aforementioned cracks to the paint; a circular area of inpainting within Joseph's forehead, as well as additional thin strokes through his face and figure; a small area of inpainting to the Virgin's proper right jawline, as well as spots of inpainting to the left of her nose; scattered inpainting throughout the Virgin's lower skirt and proper right sleeve; an area of inpainting in the lower left corner, within the background; additional minor strokes of inpainting scattered throughout the background.
