1960 marque un début de simplification dans les lignes exubérantes de la gamme Cadillac. La calandre est abaissée et son dessin allégé, tandis que les ailerons arrière, inspirés de l'aéronautique, sont légèrement réduits et les feux, cerclés dans le pare-choc, évoquent clairement des réacteurs. L'ensemble gagne donc en fluidité et le V8 6.3L propulse ce vaisseau à plus de 170km/h!
L'exemplaire présenté a été vendu neuf aux USA dans sa combinaison de couleurs actuelle: "Elbony black" pour la carrosserie et intérieur cuir rouge. Une plaque retrouvée sur la voiture indique une vidange en 1975, alors que la voiture affichait 61190 miles et appartenait à un certain Frazier Kirby. Le compteur affiche aujourd'hui 85832 miles, et ce cabriolet a bénéficié d'une restauration de qualité avant son achat par notre collectionneur. La peinture de la carrosserie est d'excellente qualité et met particulièrement bien en valeur sa ligne, rehaussée de chromes à l'éclat sans reproche. L'habitacle est d'origine et en très bel état de conservation, tout comme la capote dont le mécanisme hydraulique est fonctionnel. Les moquettes rouges sont protégées par des surtapis assortis en caoutchouc portant le logo Cadillac. La mécanique est bien réglée et fonctionne bien, tout comme la boite automatique qui s'avère douce. Accompagné de deux brochures publicitaires d'époque, ce cabriolet à l'allure époustouflante est prêt à prendre la route pour le plus grand bonheur de ses occupants et devant l'étonnement des spectateurs.

1960 marked the beginning of the simplification of the exuberant designs of the Cadillac range. The grille was lowered and its design lightened, while the rear wings, inspired by aeronautics, were reduced, and the lamps, within the bumper, evoke the shape of reactors. With a more subtle design, and a 6.3-litre V8, the Cadillac was good for more than 170km/h!
The car on offer was sold new in the USA in its current color combination: "Ebony black" for the bodywork and red leather interior. A plaque on the car indicates an oil change in 1975, when the meter showed 61,190 miles and belonged to a certain Frazier Kirby then. The meter now displays 85,832 miles, and this convertible underwent a quality restoration before being purchased by the current owner. The paintwork of the body is of excellent quality, highlightening its design, and the chromework is without reproach. The interior is original and in very good condition, as is the hood whose hydraulic mechanism is working. The red carpets are protected by matching rubber mats bearing the Cadillac logo. The engine is well tuned and works well, as does the automatic gearbox. The car comes with two vintage advertising brochures. This breathtaking cabriolet is ready to hit the road and delight occupants, as well as astonish bystanders.
