A SATSUMA FLOOR VASE
Japan, 19th/20th century
Porcelain. H. 62 cm. Four ladies are painted in two big panels on the vase body, the gaps are decorated with figures or geometric patterns and flowers. The vase is coated in gold on a large area, and the outlines of the figures and decorations are slightly protruding. The glaze shows the typical small crackles of the Satsuma wares. Well preserved, and the golden paint is peeled off in some places, with signs of use.
