A Victorian shell cameo of Zeus

A Victorian shell cameo of Zeus, circa 1870, the oval panel carved with the profile of Zeus with a laurel wreath in his hair, within a pierced scrolled setting, 5.1cm long, 20g gross

The setting has been adapted, the brooch fitting is later, the setting around the shell cameo appears to have been raised, some patches to the setting and it has a vacant clasp hole to one side. the cameo has some very fine hairline cracks, whch do not go all the way through- visible when held to the light
