A Victorian silver inkstand.
A Victorian silver inkstand, the oval base with foliate and cartouched rim with later engraving, raised upon four stylised feet, with central cup between two plain circular mounts for two cut-glass ink pots, each of circular form with silver mount to base and hinged silver cover with conforming decoration. Hallmarked Henry Wilkinson & Co (John Brashier), London 1881. Length 10.5" (27 cm), weight excluding glass pots 14.26 ozt (444 grams).
Condition Report:
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.
- Heavily marked and tarnished and dirty, and would benefit from a good clean and polish.
- The central cup and circular mounts can be removed via screws to the underside of the stand.
- There are very light crude engravings of numbers to the underside.
