A late Victorian silver three piece tea service.

A late Victorian silver three piece tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each of oblong bellied form with gadroon rim above lobed decoration to lower body, with reeded flat-top handles and each raised on four bun feet, teapot with stained wood handle and finial to domed, hinged lid, all conforming in design. Hallmarked Hayes Brothers, Birmingham 1895. Maximum length of teapot 11.75" (30 cm), gross weight 38.2 ozt (1188.4 grams).

Condition Report:
- Displaying general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- A few minor surface dints and bumps.
- Visible seam lines to all pieces with some likely repairs.
- Teapot with small repairs to spout. There is a small area on the underside near to the tip. Also further likely small repairs visible around the base of the spout at the join to the main body.
- Sugar bowl with a slight crack to one handle, seen on the underside of the flat top in one corner.
- Cream jug with similar damage to handle.
- Bun feet with slight knocks and contact wear to undersides.
- Sugar bowl with likely repair around one foot join and two possible replacement feet.
- Hinged lid of teapot appears in good working order and closes flush.
- Main hallmarks to all pieces appear rubbed but legible.
- Teapot lid with matching part hallmarks and further lion passant to nut attaching the finial.
