Notes: The original is conserved in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria; numerous other copies of this portrait were made following Rubens' death.
Condition Report: **Craquelure; slight loosening of canvas from the stretcher; slight stretcher marks; minor pinprick-sized losses; accretions; rubbing to edges where canvas meets the frame. Very difficult for UV light to penetrate the varnish layer, but inpainting repairs possible to hand, sleeve and within craquelure lines. Does not appear to be relined. Frame with nicks, marks and abrasions.
