Superb apulian red-figure bell Krater attributed to the Schulman Group. Front decorated with a scene depicting a naked young man, the shoulder covered with a drape, offering a wreath to a seated woman holding a phiale and a thyrse. On the left, a woman standing, leaning on a column, holds a torch and a long branch. On the right, a young naked satyr appears holding a situla. The back is painted with three young draped men, having a conversation, two of them leaning on canes. Rich decor of palmettes, greek meander and myrtleleaves. Black glazed terracotta heightened with white and yellow paint. Includes thermoluminescence certificate |Great Greece, Apulia. 4th Century B. C. Very large example. Dimensions 47,50 x 49,00 cm Condition: Restoration over breklines on the upper part and foot. Excellent overall condition. Provenance: Acquired at Pierre Bergé Auction House - Paris, France in 2017.
