CASED NEW YORK COLT MODEL 1849 POCKET MODEL

SERIAL NUMBER 118145 BARREL 4" CALIBER .31 PERCUSSION MANUFACTURED 1856. Blue and case color finishes with one piece varnished walnut grips. 4 inch octagon barrel with 2 line New York address. Ormsby stagecoach cylinder scene, silver washed trigger guard and back strap. Full matching numbers including wedge. Revolver is case in original Colt factory case with early and appropriate straight leg brass bullet mold with sprue cutter, Colt takedown tool and Pocket Model eagle flask and Eley green label cap tin w/ caps. The most popular percussion pocket pistol of the day and used extensively by soldiers and Gentlemen alike during the civil War period. CONDITIONS, The revolver is very fine with generous amounts of case colors remaining on frame and rammer. The barrel retains most of the factory blue finish. The cylinder scene is very fine and areas of blue finish remain in protected areas. The bore is good with darkness in grooves. The action operates properly. Grips are very fine and the straps retain much of the original silver. The case is very good with solid partitions and good original lining. The exterior has had extra finish added at an earlier period. The mold is fine with good markings. The flak is very good with most lacquer remaining and remains operational. A very attractive cased pre-war Colt Pocket with all accessories .ANTIQUE
