Candelabrum, Pair of Silver Candelabra Vienna 19th (2) - .800 silver - Hermann Südfeld & Co - Austria - Late 19th century

Beautiful pair of Viennese silver candelabra's by Hermann Südfeld & Co. These unique masterpieces are very beautifully executed with various flower decorations, pearl edges, acanthus leaves. The pedestals are decorated with lion paws at the bottom, four Putti's and four very detailed fabulous lion heads at the top. Both in very nice condition without damage or old repairs. The bottom parts are provided with the 800/1000 silver hallmark and the makers mark H. S. (the stamps are a bit unclear but they are certainly made by H. S for H Südfeld & Co. TOWN IDENTIFICATION LETTER FROM Diana head A=Vienna (1867-1922) H Südfeld & Co, manufacturing silversmiths and metalworkers, was founded in 1825 by A. B. Bächer. Hermann Südfeld took over the business in 1881, when production was increased and modern methods introduced. By 1914, when the firm was under the directorship of Heinrich Tandler, the workforce numbered some 80 operatives. The firm was awarded prize metals at the exhibition in Vienna (1845 and 1873) and in London (1862) The total weight is 4652 grams The bottom parts are weighted and weigh 1135 and 1128 grams. Overpieces weigh 1193 and 1169 grams Dimensions are 54 high and 32 cm wide These silver candelabra's which can hold up to five candles each, adds refinement and elegance to any room. Will be packed with care and shipped insured!
