Chinese Qing Dynasty Nephrite Standing Figure

East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 1644 to 1912 CE. A petite standing figure carved from nephrite (jade) of a sage green hue. The figure stands with legs shrouded beneath a floor-length skirt and holds both hands neatly in front of the waistline. Intricate curvilinear motifs are incised in relief around the figure's upper and lower body and provide an intriguing presentation. The head has teardrop-shaped eyes, a triangular nose, and full lips beneath a protruding top knot. Size: 1.25" W x 2.5" H (3.2 cm x 6.4 cm)

Provenance: private Los Angeles County, California, USA collection, acquired by descent from the owner's father, collection amassed between 1950 and 1990
