Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Inlaid Slant-lid Desk, possibly New Hampshire, late 18th/early 19th century, the paneled lid opens to reveal an interior of short drawers and valanced compartments, above a cockbeaded string-inlaid case of four drawers on ogee bracket feet, (height loss, imperfections), ht. 39 1/2, wd. 41 1/2, dp. 20 1/2 in.
Note: The interior of the lid is lined with fragments of New Hampshire newspaper dated 1801.
