Mercedes-Benz - W111 - Ex Werks Testwagen Test Car - 1965

[ translate ]

Rarity: Former test car from Daimler-Benz AG.
A W111 - 220 SE body with 300 SE aluminum six-cylinder, the 160hp engine from the 300 SE switch.
Due to its light metal alloy (head and block) , the engine weighs around 40 kg less than its gray cast predecessors, which were used in the (300SL Gullwing and Roadster) and in the 300 (W189 Adenauer sedan) .
This reduction in the front axle load resulted in improved driving behavior.
The vehicle was registered to Daimler Benz in Stuttgart and served as a test vehicle. The test car was deregistered on March 7, 1969. The vehicle was later displayed at the University of Aachen as an exhibit. The vehicle then stopped. It is not known when the vehicle was repainted.
\r
It has been owned by the seller since November 2018 and has been driven little. The vehicle is ready to drive and has an H registration.
\r
The Mercedes can be viewed or picked up near Soest/Germany.
The handover takes place deregistered without a license plate.
It is recommended that you view and check the vehicle before bidding to avoid later discrepancies and disappointments. Please contact Catawiki to arrange a viewing appointment.
