OLD, OLD MODEL S&W RUSSIAN REVOLVER
SERIAL 19571. BARREL 5.5". CALIBER .44 RUSSIAN. This is a fine example of an old west cut down 2nd model with Russian top strap stamp but done in English, not for Russian contract. It was period shortened much like the Wells Fargo revolvers. It is nickel plated and wears the original walnut two piece grips. About 60% of the original nickel remains with the balance a deep chocolate brown. Grips are very good and slightly shy to metal. Cylinder indexes and locks up. Bore is sharp and clean. A really cool example of an old west revolver that saw lots of history. A.
