Porsche - 356 Speedster Replica - 1966

[ translate ]

The Porsche 356 was in production until 1965. A total of 76,313 Porsche 356 were built between 1948 and 1965. There are fakes and replicas which are indistinguishable from the real ones. This one which has been valued is a replica Porsche 356 Speedster based on a Volkswagen Beetle. For this purpose, the chassis of the Beetle was professionally shortened into a V-shape in order to maintain firmness. The bodywork is made of plastic. The vehicle was imported from America in 2008. This is a revaluation. 1,500 km have been driven since it’s previous valuation on 27/08/2016. The vehicle has a platform chassis. It was professionally shortened, restored and is in very good condition. The body was newly manufactured around 2008 and is in excellent condition. We found no damage to the bodywork. We did not notice corrosion on the outside of the vehicle, only some minor stone chips. We have not identified any signs of major repairs. The 4-cylinder air-cooled 1,584cc 55 k. W OHV engine in boxer setup is mounted lengthways. The engine was overhauled when the vehicle was built. It is obvious no expense or effort has been spared in getting and maintaining the car in its current condition. The vehicle is indistinguishable from an original Porsche Speedster except for the chassis number. The car can be viewed and picked up in Eelde, the Netherlands.
