Very good dark impression with lot of details, the hand of Rembrandt. One of the large Rembrandt etchings.

Rembrandt has balanced light and dark almost equally, to great dramatic and spiritual effect, marshalling the light to converge on the figure of Christ. Medium: Etching Circa: 1631 Notes: All measurements are taken on the plate mark. Condition: A good impression with full plate border and margins on a laid paper with no visible watermark. Flattened middle fold with paper strip at left on the backside. Seventh/eight state before the many reworks by Basan in the ninth state. The hand of Rembrandt. One of the larger Rembrandt etchings.
