A Japanese marked Satsuma saucer, Meiji (1868-1912) , ca 1900, ca 4. 3 cm. high and 30. 5 cm. Ø. Decorated with a mountainous river landscape with a large castle surrounded by walls and pines, the rim with triangular diaper pattern in overglaze red and gold, the underside with both Shimazu family crest ('mon') and signature, minor retouches (images #12-13) .
