ALS as president signed “T. R.,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4 x 5.25, White House letterhead, no date. Letter to "Douglas," his brother-in-law Douglas Robinson, Jr., concerning his nephew, Theodore Douglas Robinson. In full: "We are exceedingly distressed about Teddy. Do write me as soon as you can. Poor fellow! He has had hard luck. But I am proud at all I learn about him at Harvard. Love to darling, worried Corrine." In very good to fine condition, with a light diagonal crease to the second page. The subject of the letter, Theodore Douglas Robinson, graduated from Harvard in 1904 and went on to serve as Assistant Secretary of the Navy in the administration of Calvin Coolidge. Accompanied by a matte-finish 4.75 x 6.75 portrait of President Roosevelt's son, Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., signed in fountain pen by Roosevelt, Jr., who received the Medal of Honor for storming Utah Beach during the Normandy landings on D-Day. A unique Roosevelt family grouping.
