Dessiné par Giugiaro au sein du centre de style de l'usine Alfa Romeo, sur la plateforme de l'Alfetta berline, le coupé vit le jour en 1974 en pleine crise pétrolière et au début des premières limitations de vitesses. Néanmoins elle fit une belle carrière grâce à ses performances et à sa ligne agressive et sportive, relayée par la GTV 6 dès 1980. Les succès en compétition ne se firent pas attendre sur circuit et en rallye.
La voiture présentée est une rare version DELTA, disponible uniquement pour le marché français fin 1980 et modifiée chez DELTA à Aix la Chapelle en Allemagne. La Delta est disponible en 4 coloris, Bleu Bugatti, bleu marine, blanc et rouge (Rosso 501). Les sièges plus enveloppants sont toujours recouverts du tissu à rayures bleues, blanches et oranges fabriqués en Allemagne par la société ASS et siglés sur le dossier par un médaillon portant un A pour ASS et Delta. Le bas de la carrosserie est peint en noir satiné ainsi que tous les joncs et baguettes de carrosserie, les ailes sont réhaussées par un jonc en plastique noir et un becquet est ajouté sur le hayon arrière. Les superbes jantes RONAL de 15 pouces sont choisies ainsi qu'une paire de rétroviseurs Vitaloni. L'insonorisant du capot moteur est à motif en losange cousu de fil rouge. Une paire de carburateurs à double corps Solex et un échappement à double sortie Sebring portent la puissance à 140 ch qui lui confèrent une vitesse de pointe de 195km/h. D'après certains Alfistes, il n'y en aurait qu'une vingtaine de recensées. Il ne faut pas confondre avec la version turbocompressé AUTODELTA produit à 500 exemplaires appelée Turbodelta, bien que notre exemplaire soit affublé d'un autocollant Autodelta sur la lunette arrière. Il faut noter que le synchro de seconde est usé et qu'il serait nécessaire de la remplacer. Cette Alfetta GTV est un concentré de performance, d'exclusivité et de plaisir pour une somme très abordable.

Nevertheless, it had a good production run thanks to its performances and its aggressive and sporty line, expressed best by the GTV 6 from 1980. Competition success followed on the circuit and in rallying.
The car on offer is a rare DELTA version, available only for the French market at the end of 1980 and modified by DELTA in Aachen, Germany. The Delta was available in 4 colors, Bugatti Blue, Navy Blue, White and Red (Rosso 501). The more enveloping seats are still covered with blue, white and orange striped fabric made in Germany by ASS and branded on the backrest with a medallion bearing an A for ASS and Delta. The lower part of body and the body moldings are painted in satin black, the fenders are enhanced by a black plastic ring and a spoiler has been added to the rear hatch. The superb 15-inch Ronal rims were chosen as well as a pair of Vitaloni mirrors. The soundproofing of the engine cover has a diamond pattern sewn with red thread. A pair of Solex twin-barrel carburettors and a Sebring dual-outlet exhaust pump up power to 140bhp, giving the car a top speed of 195 km/h. According to some Alfistas, there would be only around 20 registered. This should not be confused with the turbocharged AUTODELTA version produced in 500 units and called Turbodelta, although the car on offer has an Autodelta sticker on the rear window. Note that the second sync is worn out and it may need to be replaced. This Alfetta GTV is a lovely combination of performance, exclusivity and fun at a very affordable price.
