The production of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, on which the Alfa Romeo Berlina was also based, commenced in 1962 and renewal was overdue. In 1972, the Alfetta 1800 succeeded the smallest Berlina (the 1750) . The Alfetta 1. 8 was given the engine from the Berlina 1750, a four-cylinder inline engine with two overhead camshafts and 1779 cc. The Alfetta had 121 HP, a top speed of 180 km/h and could sprint from zero to a hundred km/h in 9. 5 seconds. The suspension and drive of the Alfetta did change entirely compared to the Berlina. The gearbox and coupling were installed in the back of the sedan (transaxle) and the rear suspension concerned a De Dion axle, as was the case with the historical Alfetta 159. The result was an ideal weight distribution and sublime roadholding. Giorgetto Giugiaro was responsible for the exterior of this Alfetta. This Alfa Romeo is in very neat condition. The car starts immediately, shifts smoothly and powerfully through all gears and idles nicely. The interior still is in neat condition as depicted, the original steering wheel is also present. The car was repainted in the past and its paintwork is still in good condition. The paintwork has some small chips and blisters (see photos) . The chrome also shows a couple of small spots. The bottom furthermore looks completely rust-free. This Alfa Romeo was imported to the Netherlands in 1994, it has a Dutch licence as well as a valid Dutch periodic vehicle inspection (until 2021) .
