The Locré factory was the most important hard porcelain factory in Paris.
It was founded in 1771 by Locré de Roissy, rue Fontaine-au-Roy in Paris. It was also called "La Basse-Courtille" because it was located at a place called La Courtille, or "German porcelain" because of Locré's marriage to a German woman.
