SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1873
Serial # 100406. Barrel length 28". Caliber 44-40. Made in 1882. Here are two rare special features you have probably never seen on the same rifle. The barrel is 4" longer than standard and it is ahalf octagon. Other features include full magazine, German silver knife blade front sight, Winchester semi-buckhorn rear sight, blue finish, walnut stocks with trap. All metal is basically dark patina with freckling and sharp barrel legends. The stocks are excellent and proud to metal. The rifling is well defined with minor black powder abrasion. Action is fine. A handsome and almost impossible rifle to find. Factory research indicates received in warehouse September 16, 1882. (A)
