Refined and evocative works, in which the artist demonstrates excellent talent. The paintings can be traced back to an artist supposedly operating in France around the mid-19th century. With beautiful frames from the 19th century, which show slight flaws and shortcomings. In overall fairly good condition, considering their age. There are some scattered restorations and some slight peeling of the surface, but nothing truly relevant. There is a fine craquelure compatible with the paintings’ age, more prominently on the male portrait, which has some cracks. There are no conservation issues. The original canvases have not been relined. The stretchers appear to be original and coeval to the canvases. Paintings size: 53 x 43 cm each. - Frames size: 65 x 54. 5 cm each.
